LYNDA MONICK-ISENBERG |
Lynda M. Monick-Isenberg originally from the plains of South Dakota emigrated to Minnesota to study and received a BA in Studio Arts and K-12 Education from the College of St. Catherine and MA in Design from the College of Human Ecology, Department of Design, Housing and Apparel at the University of Minnesota. As a visual artist who works in drawing and weaving, she has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions locally and nationally, and installed over 100 large scale tapestry commissions nation wide to date. In addition to her studio practice Lynda is currently an associate professor of Fine Art at the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, Chair of the CVA Foundation Department, teaches a variety of drawing courses for the college and in the community, and develops, coordinates and teaches CVA’s Teaching Artist Program. She holds adjunct teaching positions in a number of colleges in St. Paul and Minneapolis, and has participated in the development and implementation of many community based teaching artist residencies. Her community work includes K-12 art education with students and teachers, visual arts residencies with special populations and consultation as a Peer Coach for the Perpich Center of Minnesota grants, Minneapolis Public School Arts for Academic Achievement Program (AAA), and state and national arts organizations |
